To celebrate World Chocolate Day today, here is a simple but irresistible chocolate snack recipe. If you love Nutella, you will love these Chocolate and Hazelnut Filo Rolls….
Chocolate and Hazelnut Filo Rolls
Ingredients:
25g melted butter
6 sheets filo pastry
Nutella hazelnut spread
1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts
honey to drizzle on top
icing sugar and cocoa powder to sprinkle on top
Method:
Pre heat oven to 180Β°C
Cut each piece of filo pastry in half so you end up with 12 squares
Brush each square with melted butter and then place one large spoonful of Nutella and spread it across the bottom of the sheet of pastry, leaving a 5cm space from the edges
Sprinkle some crushed hazelnuts over the Nutella spread
Fold over the sides of the pastry to create a 5cm border
Gently roll up the sheet of pastry from the bottom where the Nutella is spread and place roll on a baking tray lined with baking paper
Complete the rest of the rolls and place on the baking tray
Brush the rolls with the rest of the melted butter and sprinkle with the rest of the crushed hazelnuts
Place in the oven and bake for 10 mins or until golden brown
Remove from oven and transfer to a serving dish and drizzle honey on top.
Dust with icing sugar and cocoa powder to serve

Oh my God these look incredible Lorelle!! I love hazelnuts and chocolate together. It reminds me of a gelato I had in Italy called “Capricio” which was that exact combination. π One thing for you to consider possibly is leaving out the nutella itself, or finding a substitute. The only reason I say this is because I recall an ingredient in nutella that is pretty bad health-wise. For your consideration β€ .
Have a wonderful rest of your week. Good to connect!
Blessings,

Hi Debbie
Oh really? I will have to look into the Nutella ingredient! Maybe there are safer substitutes to this. Thank you for letting me know though.
Have a wonderful rest of the week and always great to connect with you too. β€οΈ
